Orange County, Texas: House Elevation Grant

FEMA awarded $1.5 million to Orange County, Texas through the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM).

Most of the grant programs for home elevation funding are allocated to political subdivisions (Cities, Counties, Special Districts, etc.). Homeowners are not able to apply directly for most grants. 

FEMA is covering 75% of the cost to elevate the 12 Hurricane Harvey-damaged homes through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).

They can contact their local floodplain administrator (Download list here: Floodplain Administrator Community List), or other local officials to find out about their community’s interest in applying for a home elevation grant.
