Non - Grant Financing Options

Bank Financing

Financing through a traditional banking institution

Some homeowners may have the option to finance their home elevation or reconstruction through their own banking institution. This option involves an approval process like any other loan and not all banks offer financing for this type of project without applying for a personal loan.

If you don’t have a bank that you can work with, call us to discuss your financial situation and we can refer you to banks that homeowners have used in the past.

Instant Financing

P3 may have alternative financing options.

P3 works with other financial institutions that offer loan alternatives through payment programs.

These programs are popular among those seeking smaller loans to pay contractors for home improvement.

Call our team to find out which of these options might fit your personal financial scenario.

National and Texas Flood Mitigation and
Disaster Recovery Grant Programs

Hazard MitigationAssistance Program(HMPG)

After Hurricane Harvey and other heavy rain events, several counties in the State of Texas have been awarded funding for hazard mitigation through a Presidential Declaration.

You may know these grants as FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).

Although you cannot directly apply for the grant, your community may apply on behalf of its residents.

HMGP assists communities in rebuilding in a stronger and safer way in order to become more resilient overall.

Learn more about the HMGP opportunities your community may be qualified for by contacting your local Floodplain Administrator below.

FMA Grant
Programs

We’ve also worked on projects that are managed by the Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program (FMA) for home elevation

Funds can be used for projects that reduce or eliminate the risk of repetitive flood damage to buildings insured by the National Flood Insurance Program.

FEMA chooses recipients based on the applicant’s ranking of the project and the eligibility and cost-effectiveness of the project.

FEMA requires that state, local, tribal, and territorial governments develop and adopt hazard mitigation plans as a condition for receiving these types of non-emergency disaster assistance funds.

Homeowner’s Assistance
andReimbursement Programs
(HARP)

With HARP, homeowners can get the help they need to repair and rebuild their homes after damage from the 2018 & 2019 flooding disasters in Texas for:

Reconstruction
Repair and rehabilitate homes
Improve damaged homes so that they are stronger against natural disasters
Elevate homes above flood level
Temporary relocation assistance

Reimburse up to $50,000 for certain out-of-pocket expenses incurred for repairs to include:
Reconstruction
Mitigation
Rehabilitation
Repayment of SBA loans

What About Flood Insurance?

National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)

According to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) , in order for a community to participate in the National Flood Insurance Program, it must adopt the program’s minimum standards into its building codes.

Because of these NFIP requirements and the fact that many areas are prone to repeated flooding, homes will need to be elevated up to 2 feet above the base flood elevation to comply.

This is why it is important to choose an experienced contractor that specializes in home elevation and home reconstruction to rebuild your home after a flood.

P3 has helped more than 1000 families over 25+ years recover from hurricanes and rebuild after flooding. It’s what we do best.

Make sure you check with NFIP and your insurance agent to see if there are any changes to your requirements. Recent floods in Texas required adjustments to the flood risk zones that may affect you.
